Taking Action in Grade 4:
A few weeks ago, I had four students from Grade 4LH come to talk to me about taking action. They had been watching how the Secondary students take action independently and wanted to do something themselves. I would like to congratulated Eloise Milot, Hui Li Ma, Amorey Frongia and Dorsa Mahmoudi. They planned, implemented and successfully ran a school-wide Bake Sale to raise money for The Year of Zayed, through the Red Crescent Society. They baked all the yummy treats themselves and at the end of the day were able to hand Ms. Elena, our Charity Lead, over Dhs. 1000 to help less fortunate children in the U.A.E. Well Done!!!
Patrick Bol, a GWA Father and DP World employee, came to talk to students in the Elementary about a wonderful initiative he is a part of. Patrick and his team are planning to row across the Atlantic Ocean, between Africa and South America beginning Dec. 14th. They are raising awareness of ocean pollution and plastic waste, which is effecting our seas and marine life all over the world. Patrick spoke to the students about how his boat was made, what the journey will be like, as well as why it is important to raise awareness. We are excited to be able to watch Patrick and his team on their journey. Links will be shared with classroom teachers. GWA wishes them the best of luck.
