Adaptability and embracing change is so important in our school, as well as in any international learning community; however, having and celebrating traditions, and maintaining those strong connections to special regular rituals and habits of our history, are critical to foundations of any culture. National Day in the UAE is a commemoration of an important historical landmark in the UAE’s birth as a modern nation. The tradition of National Day in our school culture continues on November 29th, in two weeks’ time. It is a day to recognize and appreciate the wonderful heritage, identity and life of the country we live in. Students can come dressed in traditional UAE dress or any (or all) of the colours of the UAE flag. Our GWAPA parents are very busy planning activities for students in the courtyard during this day. Please know that there will be no courtyard pick-up that day (pick-up in the classrooms) and, as per tradition, UAE and Arabian attire, paraphernalia, other stuff for National Day will be for sale outside the Dragon’s Den on Sunday (26th), Monday (27th) and Tuesday (28th).
