We am pleased to introduce to you the Surval Summer Camp in Switzerland, an exciting summer opportunity for girls aged 10 to 16.
The Surval Summer Camp offers a chance to experience a wonderful range of activities including horseback riding, tennis and etiquette classes, enjoyed within a spectacular setting whilst making friends from around the world. It will also enable your daughters to practice their French or English over the summer. If you would like more information about this exciting opportunity, I am delighted to invite you to meet the Surval Summer Camp Principal, Mrs Patricia Woodhouse at our school on Wednesday 17th April at 11am in our training room on the first floor. While availability for 2019 is limited, a number of spaces have been reserved for GEMS students, together with an exclusive 10% discount. To register your attendance, please visit here. We look forward to welcoming you to this informative event. Warm regards, Emma Burke Parent Relations Executive On March the 21st, Eco-Schools celebrated 25 years of excellence in the field of Environmental Education and Education of Sustainable Development. Dear GWA Community, As spring is in the air (yes, today is the first full day of Spring), this is the time of year when our auditorium is filled with song. While students sing regularly in their different classes for different purposes, there is something very special about practicing and performing in a concert in front of other students and families. It’s obvious that learning through and in the arts is an integral part of our life throughout GWA, but the reasons why may produce a few different answers. Most people will automatically say that exposure in the arts helps to promote academic growth, developing our brains in ways that positively influences other areas of our schooling. This is something that has always been assumed; however, the research is mixed on this, with some saying there isn’t a strong correlation between the arts and certain academic achievement and others saying there certainly is. |
Dear GWA Community, This is a reminder about our process in asking for parent and student feedback on teachers you feel have provided inspirational and outstanding contributions to our community. At the end of the year, any of our monthly selections could be nominated for the Mariamma Varkey Award to be selected from all GEMS schools. As Elementary parents and students, we would really value your input in helping in the selection to honor a teacher. Based on responses from you in this survey, along with GWA staff, we will continue to recognize an Elementary teacher every other month. |
