Dear GWA Community, While we're in the declining weeks of the year, it does not mean that any work or learning is going down in any way. In fact, the months of May and June are typically quite the opposite! As we plan out our reporting timeline, finish organizing classes and schedules for next year, and make our way through our end-of-year To Do List (that doesn't seem to actually have an end), our teachers and students continue to focus on learning in the classrooms. |
We would like to thank our Islamic and Arabic staff, with a special mention to Mr. Waseem Alwaneh, for bringing all the specific details together. Of course, a night like this couldn’t happen without the support of GWAPA and our whole GWA community. The GWA gym and cafeteria were full as our Muslim students, staff and families took part in the traditional breaking of the fast. Mr. Waseem called out the Azan for Maghrib to break the fast and after that led the Muslims in congregational prayers. Mr. Khaled recited in his melodious voice the Holy Quran.
It was then time to share an important meal together. There was so many choices of wonderful food available. It was amazing to see so many different nationalities in our wonderful global community come together to take part in this important ritual. Kind regards, Kristen Murphy Assistant Principal – Elementary |
