Dear GWA Community, To those who were able to came out to support Tuesday night’s PYP Drama production, “Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits”, I’m certain you would all agree that it was an exceptional experience. With around 40 students in the production from Grades 2 to 5, and nearly half that many more staff and parent volunteers helping to put it on and run the evening, it was easy to recognize the many weeks of work that went into practices, rehearsals, and production to bring the show to the stage. While it was a group effort by many people, I do want to give a special mention to four who really did a lot to make it happen: Pooja Kedia (costumer), Laura Johnson (choreographer), Kristi Wheeldon (producer), and Courtney Vintch (director). It is difficult to truly comprehend the incredible amount of time and dedication everyone put into making this show happen. Performances like this drama production are such a wonderful part of our school that not only give students unique opportunities to develop a wide range of skills, but they do so much to bring our community together and give back to it at the same time. Every year I wonder how they could ever top the one from the year before, and yet every year our staff and students outdo themselves. This year was no exception. Great work everyone! Very funny! - please keep reading.... |
