- Myself and other parent’s agree that we have witnessed this year considerable impact on our children’s progress.
- Demonstrating innovative and creative approaches to classroom teaching and learning
- Illustrating passion and commitment in all subject areas
- Ms. Nicola is an excellent teacher and embodies the IB Learner Profile. An example of a good teacher
- Ms. Nicola has exceptional skills to motivate children to learn.
- Our son was not interested in learning math last year. It was even a challenge to convince him to do his homework. This has totally changed. Ms. Nicola started interesting math games, encouraged out son by celebrating even small successes, explained in detail how to solve problems and let us, the parents know, in which areas to support. Our son is now having fun in math lessons. When we ask him at the end of the day "what was best today" he sometimes mentions the math sessions in school. We can see and feel the progress. I am convinced that this is because of Ms. Nicola’s motivation to improve the children's capabilities and her excellent teaching skills.
- Ms. Nicola is a great teacher and the students love her and appreciate her dedication.
- Ms. Nicola is working very hard towards the progress of my child. Amazing teacher, very proactive.
Congratulations to our Teacher of the Month for December, Mrs. Nicola Millward. Here are some of the comments that convinced the committee to select Nicola.
Keeping Skills Sharp Over the Vacation Amongst our community, opinions differ regarding having students “do homework” over the break. Some parents feel strongly that students should be actively engaged in “learning activities” each day while other parents want their children to play and just enjoy the vacation. As a parent, it is a difficult conundrum – how much is too much and how much is not enough? Dear Parents and Guardians,
Here is your opportunity to provide feedback on your experiences with key services provided for your children. From uniforms, bus transportation and food service to extra-curricular activities, your opinions inform improvement plans. Dear GWA Families, What an incredibly busy week we have had at GWA! On Monday night, we celebrated our current Grade 11 students who completed the Middle Years Programme last year. We received the official IBO certificates and held an MYP graduation celebration that evening. Thank you to all those that helped with the great evenings. On Monday night, students from our Diploma Programme performed for the DP Music Recital. I was very impressed by the level of skill and talent of our students. Check out the GWA Facebook page to see snippets of some of the performances. On Tuesday Night, we hosted the Sports Award Ceremony. Congratulations to all of our student athletes on a successful season. Finally, on Wednesday night, we held the Festive Concert where we heard amazing music from a variety of our music ensembles. Congrats to all of our student performers and all the teachers who organized and hosted this event. |
