Re-enrollment - All parents have been sent information about the re-enrollment process. If you have not already completed the re-enrollment process. I urge to do so as soon as possible. The deadline is March 13 but I hope that we can complete the process earlier.
Averda - Earlier this week a parent remarked that the Averda recycling machines were no longer in place. The school is negotiating another contract with a different recycling contract which includes all aspects of recycling. The Environmental Committee (comprising students and staff) is working with the administration to get the new recycling programme in to place as soon as possible.
Makers Day - A group of students from Grades 11 and 12 have entered the Makers Day competition. They have created a proof of concept design for a self watering system for gardens base on soil humidity. The group presented to GWAPA and received some funding. They have now presented at Makers Day and GREEN THUMBS WON their category!!
Congratulations to our students (see below) for outstanding effort and achievement. The students have also been selected for the AICE accelerator program! As part of this program, the students will receive:
- AED 1500 seed funding to develop their project
- An industry mentor to advise on the development of their project
- Training in business planning, pitching, and more
- An invitation to present their project to leaders from the corporate and entrepreneurial sectors at the GEMS AICE Demo Day
- Potential further opportunities to develop the commercial and technical viability of their projects
