This week is a great opportunity for everyone to recharge as they prepare themselves for the remainder of the term. The first six weeks have been very positive. It has been wonderful to be able to go into classes and watch incredible learning taking place. This has been part of the regular observation cycle that takes place to GWA.
This morning we had the pleasure of hosting the Minister of Education from Jamaica. Senator the Honourable Ruel Reid was completely amazed by the opportunities for students here at GWA. His staff stated that this is what we need in our country. So often when we walk in and out of this wonderful school we forget what a special place it is.

These results in combination with your child’s internal assessments and classwork also assist staff in addressing areas that your child may find challenging as well as extending your child’s strengths.
As of this week, we have almost completed our Fall external testing window. Students in grades 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 have complete their CAT4 assessments and most students in grades 1-9 will have completed their MAP assessments. Next week will see us running make-up sessions for students who may need longer to complete one of the test items or was away from school on the day their class completed the assessment. It’s important to know, the process of data collection through external platforms is an integral part of the UAE government’s drive to improve education across the Emirates, however, as a school, we are also committed to using external benchmarking to ensure that students gain the best possible outcomes in their learning. External testing will continue to be an important part of GWA’s educational practice and one in which we are investing much time and energy. Once the last of the assessments are completed, results will be forwarded to parents via the iSAMS portal for your information. Please see link/attachment from Wednesday's parent coffee morning presentation for more information. Warm Regards Megan LeCaze |
